Diana Potter nasceu na Inglaterra e teve seu primeiro contato com as artes plásticas através de sua mãe, que era uma pintora renomada na cidade de Londres. Mas foi aqui no Brasil que ela encontrou seu estímulo e liberdade para explorar suas possibilidades artísticas.
A FAAP – Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado, em São Paulo mostrou novos caminhos, onde começou a desenvolver trabalhos com materiais diferentes como cimento, solda, ferro e latão. As diferentes formas que surgem a partir do movimento, principalmente a emoção através da dança e da música sempre a atraíram.
Em 1986, ano que também se naturalizou brasileira, Diana, iniciou uma pequena fundição para uso próprio e que hoje continua sendo um estabelecimento procurado por artistas plásticos para fundirem suas peças de bronze.
Em 1989, ela iniciou um estudo da expressão contemporâneo, formando um pequeno grupo de estudos de artistas em seu atelier. Sempre buscando se aprofundar nos estudos e trocar experiências participou de vários workshops e exposições no Brasil, Estados Unidos e Europa.
Atualmente, através de suas obras, ela retrata a união da forma e cor despertando a alma interior, buscando a harmonia do caos.
Diana potter was born in England where art and painting was part of her upbringing due to the fact that her mother was a well-known artist. But it was only when she came to live in Brazil that she found the stimulus to explore and study her artistic talents. While studying at FAAP – Fundacao Amando Alvares Penteado in Sao Paulo, she was given the opportunity to work with new materials such as clay cement and soldered iron and brass . Always fascinated by the human body, and the emotions conveyed by dance and music, she expressed movement in body form , influencing her choice of material , clay cast in bronze.
In 1986, the year she became a Brazilian citizen, she opened a small artistic foundry for her own use which to this day continues to be well established in the Sao Paulo art world.
For a number of years, small groups of artists gathered together to study and work In her studio, during which time she also attended various workshops and exhibited in the US and Europe.
Currently, through her paintings, she portrays the union of form and color awakening the inner spirit seeking harmony out of chaos.
